Here’s the first of several selected readings from Yin Binyong’s Xīnhuá Pīnxiě Cídiǎn (《新华拼写词典》 / 《新華拼寫詞典》). It covers the writing of verbs.

This reading is available in two versions:

  1. Could you maybe write lang=zh-TW or lang=zh-CN in the HTML code, so that Firefox will select a Chinese font? Right now, it always displays the text in a Japanese font, which looks a bit unusual.
I also saw this with the other texts.
But apart from that, thanks for uploading the texts!

  2. Yes, sorry to have overlooked that. (I just copied my template but forgot about the language change.) Thanks for the heads up. I won’t have FTP access for a few more days, though, so I probably won’t be able to fix these (including one more scheduled to go up automatically tonight) until Monday.

  3. Great, now it looks much better. Thanks.
If I may propose another typographic improvement: Increase the line spacing. The normal line spacing is designed for mostly lower-case latin letters. But Chinese characters behave more like capital letters, which makes the spacing between the lines too thin. Just compare the text on this web site with a Chinese book or also with the Chinese wikipedia. I think you can do that with “line-height: 1.5;”, but I’m not 100% sure.
