{"id":6459,"date":"2015-10-14T19:15:34","date_gmt":"2015-10-14T11:15:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pinyin.info\/news\/?p=6459"},"modified":"2015-10-13T23:24:45","modified_gmt":"2015-10-13T15:24:45","slug":"diing-dong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pinyin.info\/news\/2015\/diing-dong\/","title":{"rendered":"Diing Dong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A doubled vowel is a sure sign of the <a href=\"https:\/\/pinyin.info\/romanization\/gwoyeu_romatzyh\/index.html\">Gwoyeu Romatzyh<\/a> romanization system &mdash; except when it&#8217;s a sign of someone wrongly omitting an <a href=\"https:\/\/pinyin.info\/romanization\/hanyu\/apostrophes.html\">apostrophe in Hanyu Pinyin<\/a> or simply making a typo. But today&#8217;s example is certainly Gwoyeu Romatzyh, as, oddly enough, the side of a coach bus is one of the most likely places in Taiwan to spot an example of that romanization system. I&#8217;m seeing it less and less as the years go by, though, which saddens me. <\/p>\n<p>Here, however, is a nice example that looks fairly new.
