This one, however, isn&#8217;t free. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pinyin.info\/news\/news_photos\/2011\/12\/flexion_pro.gif\" alt=\"sample of the Flexion Pro font being used for text in Hanyu Pinyin\" title=\"flexion_pro\" width=\"483\" height=\"236\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5498\" style=\"margin: 2em 0;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pinyin.info\/news\/news_photos\/2011\/12\/flexion_pro.gif 483w, https:\/\/pinyin.info\/news\/news_photos\/2011\/12\/flexion_pro-300x146.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Flexion was originally designed for the movie <em>The DaVinci Code<\/em>, which is apt, given how the main character, Robert Langdon, was named after Flexion&#8217;s designer (and ambigram specialist) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnlangdon.net\/\">John Langdon<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haltaylorart.com\/\">Hal Taylor<\/a> completed the font.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s part of Taylor&#8217;s description: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Flexion is possibly the only symmetrical type design currently available. In keeping with John&#8217;s well-know propensity for ambigrams, many of the characters are mirrored to become other characters; the B is a reversed E, the C is reversed to become a D, G is a mirrored P, the K is a reversed N, and so on.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Of course, some of the tone marks will complicate making this work for ambigrams.
